Produce Pop Art
Students can use Wixie to create Pop Art in the style of Andy Warhol.
Pop Art uses common or mass produced objects as the focus of a piece of art or as part of the art work itself.
Familiarize students with the life of Andy Warhol and works like:
Characters from movies, anime and manga, such as Speed Racer, have also become commonly used in current pop art.
Work together to create a list of familiar and iconic mass-produced items like specific models/brands of cars, cell phones, candy, or fast food.
Have students create their own pop art using an image of a common object and Warhol's technique of color and repetition. They can easily start with Wixie's Pop Art template.
Students can use the Image button and search the Stickers Library for simple images of common objects. After they add them to the page, they can use the Color slider and Filter options to change the appearance.
Students can also glue images to paint layer and use the paint bucket tool to fill areas with color.
Print the images for an at-school or in-community art exhibit. You can also combine individual student work into one file for a digital art installation slide show.
